About PLRDO

Peace Lights for Rural Development Organization

Established 2011 in West Darfur, Sudan — working for peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.

Who We Are

A National Organisation Born from Crisis

PLRDO is a national organisation established in 2011 in West Darfur, Sudan, with a mission to promote peaceful coexistence among communities while advancing sustainable and inclusive development.

The organisation was founded to respond to the complex humanitarian and socio-economic challenges affecting conflict-affected and vulnerable populations. Since its establishment, PLRDO has expanded across several states in Sudan and maintains a coordination office in Kampala, Uganda.

Following the outbreak of conflict in 2023, PLRDO pivoted to deliver emergency lifesaving and life-restoring services to Internally Displaced Persons in North Darfur and beyond — now reaching all five Darfur states.
